You need to maintain a lab journal throughout the duration of this project. Your lab journal should document all the steps of this project including rough drafts, ideas, brainstorming and data collections. Each student will be given a marble journal to use.
See the handout “How to keep a lab journal” for specifics on how to maintain your journal. This journal will be collected and graded as part of your project grade. If you are working with a partner, each partner must keep their own journal.
Find a project idea: Using computers in class you will research ideas that may interest you for your project. Visit www.sciencebuddies.org. There is a ton of great information on this web site and your teachers will be working closely from it. You do not need to create an account to access the site.
Visit www.sciencebuddies.org to find a project idea and complete the Topic Selection Wizard.
